About Me

I'm Hannah Casey, Mum to two beautiful children, a son and daughter with a seven year age gap.I became a Doula after becoming more and more fascinated with pregnancy, childbirth and motherhood. I researched and read into the amazing journey so much with my second baby, because it seemed so long since I last did it all. It was then when I first read about Doulas and I just knew I wanted to be one. I have previously worked as a nanny to two children, a toddler and 4 month old and also worked along side parents and babies in a daycare nursery. I then went on to have my first child and left childcare work all together. I worked in the IT industry for a few years before giving birth to my daughter in May 2006.
In November 2006 I launched www.babybanana.biz an information site dedicated to baby led weaning. It was something I came across through my research and decided to go this route with my daughter. There wasn't much information out there at the time so I pulled all the resources I had into one place to help other Mum's thinking of weaning in this way. In July 2007, I was pleased to see a Doula Training course in the Midlands. I called and spoke at length to Valerie about becoming a Doula then booked the course... this was it! I completed the course in September 2007 through Nurturing Birth (a recognised course of Doula UK) with Kicki Hansard (you may have seen her on Mum+1 on Discovery H&H!) It was fantastic and I would highly recommend it to anyone thinking of becoming a doula themselves.
I have supported friends and family through pregnancy, birth and early motherhood and have experience in both home and hospital births. It is extremely rewarding to support new Mums & Mums-to-be and helping them feel confident in their decisions.
